The headline says it all.
Early Thursday morning, a paraplegic skateboarder apparently tried to hitch a ride on a passing big rig. The truck then made a turn, running over the 36 year old man – unidentified at this time – who suffered very serious injuries. The incident occurred at the intersection of Bacon Street and Santa Monica Avenue about 2:00 a.m.
Widder Curry does more than blog here at the OB Rag and at the San Diego Free Press. She also is a wonderful chef and writer of cookbooks. As a single mom, on my busiest mornings I struggle to ensure that everyone’s teeth are brushed, breakfast is eaten, lunches are made, the kids get to school on time and I get into work. On those mornings, it’s the barista at the local coffee shop who quickly passes me a hot cup of coffee with plenty of room for milk that makes things a little more bearable. When Citizens United was originally passed striking down federal limits on campaign spending by corporations and unions, it effectively ended elections of the people, by the people and for the people and ceded control to corporations.
