Here dear readers is a gallery of OB potholes – sent to us by a local who meticulously found, identified, and mapped a couple dozen axle-benders. We have arranged twelve of them in a gallery format.
So go to the image, click on it, and leave a comment under the photo of your fave pothole. (Keep clicking on the image to make it larger for viewing purposes.)
This is part of our two-week “Best Pothole in OB” Contest, begun last week.e
Increasingly, Democrats, liberals and progressives are coming to understand that the Koch brothers, a secretive right-wing billionaire family that pours limitless money into virtually every destructive anti-democratic initiative affecting tens of millions of Americans, are “Public Enemy Number One.”
Every year around this time, San Diego and Southern California enjoy a week or two of “unseasonable” warm weather. People go to the beach in swimsuits and actually go into the ocean.
The highs are in the 70’s. Overcoats are stashed, and the BBQ grills are rolled back out from their winter hibernation. But it’s only for a while.

“When people think of San Diego, they think of sunshine,” said San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders. “I’m here to tell you we can make money off that.”
At a press conference held in his City Hall office, Sanders said the city could raise “a substantial amount of cash” through a “sale-leaseback” arrangement focused on the sun.
Under Sanders’ proposal, San Diego would receive a large, lump-sum payment for its sunshine rights. A year later, the city would begin paying a daily sunshine royalty — but only on days when the sun comes out.
Here’s our “Best Of…” posts from 2010, month by month. Over this past year, we’ve published 953 articles on this here website. We’ve tried to include some of the best of each of our writers’ and we’ve done it on a month to month basis for the entire year. The selections below were based on subject matter, comments, and popularity, or just because they were “so OB!” We’re certain we missed some of the good posts – but there were so many!
