By South OB Girl

One of the first things people may notice about Sabrina when she is on a walk around her new neighborhood is her smile. And when you hear her story it is almost a surprise she can still smile.

Sabrina recently was adopted into a new home near Sunset Cliffs. It can be hard for animal rescue organizations to find homes for senior dogs. And even harder to find homes for dogs with special needs. Sabrina is a senior dog with special needs.

Vaping Is Much Safer than Smoking Cigarettes

By Brian Fojtik / New York Post / March 29, 2017

New York Gov. Cuomo’s Department of Health last week released survey data that he’s using to bolster his case for a $12 tax on 30 ml bottles of vaping liquids and a ban on vaping indoors. Yet the survey data — and much other evidence — undercut his case.

That hasn’t stopped legislators from piling on with efforts to ban coupons for vapor products, prohibit sales in pharmacies, ban flavored e-liquid and even ban the sale of liquid used in vapor products altogether.

More Questions About “Villa Famosa” on Camulos Drive in Point Loma

Frank Gormlie  April 3, 2017  6 Comments on More Questions About “Villa Famosa” on Camulos Drive in Point Loma

After a closer look at the site of the planned project called “Villa Famosa” on Camulos Street right off Famosa Slough, this reporter, at least, has more questions about the project.

On March 28th, we reported:

The “Villa Famosa” project is slated for a remodel of one already existing 2-story apartment building at the site on Camulos Drive, the 90 degree “turning” of the other already-existing 2-story, and the construction of a brand new third 2-story building that will hold 6 units.

The plans also call for a underground parking garage that will include 22 spaces for cars, and an additional 2 for motorcycles and 8 for bicycles.

And it also calls for a new driveway into the lot at Temecula Street.

What Would You Have Done?

Throughout our lives we are faced with making decisions. Some are important; some are not. Some will change our lives forever; others will make no difference. Some of our decisions will haunt us forever; some of our decisions we will never remember making.

I had a decision to make last week. I will not tell you the outcome in this article, but I will respond to it after I hear from you, the reader. Here is what happened:

For the past four years I have talked to – or texted – a man every single day. In those four years there were only two days that this event did not happen. We were good friends; discussed many different topics.

Quiet Desperation

By Jim Miller

America is an increasingly unhappy place and much of what we are currently doing politically is bound to make us feel worse. And while our malaise is surely not just the product of the Trump presidency, it is highly likely that his policies will continue our negative trajectory.

As the Guardian recently reported, “Happiness in the US is declining and is expected to continue on a downward path, with Donald Trump’s policies forecast to deepen the country’s social crisis.”
