The publication warned its readers:

If you receive our emailed monthly newsletter, you will still receive it, but starting June 21 you’ll need a subscription to open articles.

As of this writing, 2 pm, Thursday, June 20th, Rag writer Geoff Page can report that the City has not done a thing about the dangerous crack in the bluff at Sunset Cliffs. Page just visited the site — and witnessed a number of beach goers — and a child or a pet — directly below the cracked bluff section.

Geoff reported there was no caution tape or any kind of warning at the beach near the bluff endangered.

The Rag notified the city yesterday, June 19, of the situation at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park and Page met with 3 lifeguards in the afternoon.

Dozens of homeowners and renters in the Clairemont/Bay Ho neighborhood will stage a protest demonstration focused on the City of San Diego’s refusal to halt the destructive and illegal construction by a developer who is cramming 12 so-called “Accessory Dwelling Units” on a single family lot abutting a canyon.

As it seems like it happens so often these days, large trees are cut down either on or near public property and the community is not informed, notified or sought out for advice.

It has happened again — this time at Liberty Station, the former Naval Training Center. At least 20 large what appear to be ficus trees have been chopped down completely around High Tech High and even the stumps have been ground down.

These photos tell the story — or at least part of it.

Early one morning in 2022, Christy Gillette was woken by sheriff’s deputies.

The officers told her to move or face arrest. Gillette, who’s now 51, had been sleeping outside near the Santee Drive-In and responded that she couldn’t leave without her walker. The deputies instead threw the walker away, along with the cremated ashes of her husband and son.
