It’s clear now who is running San Diego.

Wal-Mart needed only 8 weeks and maybe thirty thousand dollars to scare the daylights out of the City Council in San Diego. One local official in San Diego, California called it a “dark day for democracy.”

The City of San Diego is quietly selling off its only landfill, a move that will impact every San Diego resident and business, and the environment.

Besides providing a place to put a million tons of trash a year, Miramar Landfill is a moneymaker for the City and provides many benefits that are likely to be degraded or lost under the proposed 35-year lease to a private operator.

Here’s an audio/video project cobbled together from publicly available information… a reaction to President Barack Obama’s emphasis on job creation in his “State of the Union” speech last week.

Just want to point out that American corporations are creating plenty of jobs all the time!

As your intrepid OB Rag reporters drove into the mall parking lot – having just driven up from San Diego, the main thing we saw was all the cops and sheriffs moving about, getting coffee, getting into position, milling about. As we parked and sought relief in the caverns of the Rancho Mirage mall, we could also see that there were many more demonstrators than mall customers roaming about.
