Increasingly, Democrats, liberals and progressives are coming to understand that the Koch brothers, a secretive right-wing billionaire family that pours limitless money into virtually every destructive anti-democratic initiative affecting tens of millions of Americans, are “Public Enemy Number One.”

Every year around this time, San Diego and Southern California enjoy a week or two of “unseasonable” warm weather. People go to the beach in swimsuits and actually go into the ocean.

The highs are in the 70’s. Overcoats are stashed, and the BBQ grills are rolled back out from their winter hibernation. But it’s only for a while.

Like a bogus Thespian, Jerry Sanders took to the stage of the Balboa Theater in mid-January, using every ounce of verbal ruse and sleight of mouth he possessed to attempt a bravado performance heralding his dreary and monotonous six years as Mayor of San Diego.

Sander’s speech, like his devious administration of city government as water boy for the corporate state, reflects a continuing tale of two cities.
