Well, Johnny Shows, you have my vote for holding a significant place in the history of Point Loma, Sunset Cliffs, and Ocean Beach! As it so happened, I walked by the first installation in 2004 and shot a slide on my Nikon that by pure circumstance captured a surfer though one of the Peace sign windows. And as it so happens, the OB historical Society has invited me to speak at their July 2025 meeting at Water’s Edge and the very last slide of my presentation is that very same slide I shot in 2004! So, since the OB Historical Society meetings are free, come on down and see my slide of your historic installation!

debbie on The Mormon Coal Mine in Point Loma: “Thanks Frank, Yes, this is not a well-known history, so thanks for reading and sharing. Debbie” Sep 11, 10:32
Johnny… the Elder Garrards relished this tale of adventure, commitment & belief.
Keep going, listening, observing, commenting!

Awesome bit of OB history. Thanks for your contributions
It’s because of locals like John that OB has always been great!
