More Thoughts on Last Week’s Win for Ocean Beach

Time to enjoy the fall air that is pushing the summer slowly to the stern. Celebrate! On Thursday, August 29th we walked into City Hall, sat together, (all 52 of us), and experienced the Hearing that resulted from our Appeal. There was no other appeal filed on this project.
I was surprised by the unanimous support of our appeal.
Applause to everyone! We all did our part, and won not just a victory for OB, but for the city’s historical districts.
Let me gloat, just a little bit. The architect who dismissed us with arrogance at the first OBPB meeting succumbed to the power of OBceans and disintegrated into a less than professional posture.

San Diego Police have announced that following an extensive investigation, detectives have made an arrest in a 2023 Ocean Beach homicide.

At 12:25 this afternoon, the San Diego Planning Commission voted unanimously to grant the appeal of the 20 apartments proposed for Point Loma Ave. This means the project, as is, will not be built.
Editordude: Here’s some good news for San Diego renters: San Diego County is set to welcome 3,226 new rental units by the end of the year with 2,016 of those in the City of San Diego, 369 in Oceanside, and 414 in Chula Vista. Plus, the County of San Diego City has a “New Affordable Housing
