Recently elected Wisconsin Republican Governor Scott Walker has proposed a bill that would eliminate almost all collective bargaining rights for most public workers and slash their pay and benefits.
Walker has also notified the state’s National Guard to be on alert for actions taken by unsatisfied state, county and municipal employees.

Late in the afternoon on Friday, February 4th, approximately 200 people gathered to show solidarity with the people of Egypt, and stood before the Federal Building in downtown San Diego.
One of the main chants: “Egypt, Egypt – will be free!”

It’s clear now who is running San Diego.
Wal-Mart needed only 8 weeks and maybe thirty thousand dollars to scare the daylights out of the City Council in San Diego. One local official in San Diego, California called it a “dark day for democracy.”
As your intrepid OB Rag reporters drove into the mall parking lot – having just driven up from San Diego, the main thing we saw was all the cops and sheriffs moving about, getting coffee, getting into position, milling about. As we parked and sought relief in the caverns of the Rancho Mirage mall, we could also see that there were many more demonstrators than mall customers roaming about.
A little before 1pm, we ambled over to the rally spot …
