OB and San Diego Fire Pits on KOGO Radio Saturday May 1

It is a discussion between Frank Gormlie of the “Adopt-a-Fire-Pit” Project, Hans Baumgartner of Save San Diego Fire Pits, and Phyllis Pfieffer of the La Jolla Light.

Way back during the Dinosaurs in 1970, I founded the original Ocean Beach People’s Rag - OB’s famous underground newspaper -, and then later during the early Eighties, published The Whole Damn Pie Shop, a progressive alternative to the Reader.

  1. Hey Wait?? are these the firepits on Ocean Beach??? What? someone wants to close them??? WHY??? They seem a great place for people to come together on the OB beach….all controlled !!! Why end it??/
    I was there for 2 weeks for the first time and thought it was great to let people get together on the beach for awhile…..I really can not understand why anyone would want to stop it……

  2. Woo Hoo!!! All 185 Fire Pits REMAIN where they are!!! Way to go all for helping preserve what means something to the people. Here’s a OBlicious hug to all who made the “donations” and put forth their time, energy, and efforts to bring this to such a beautiful solution!!!
