URGENT: SB 79 Vote Coming Tonight or Tomorrow
The Assembly will vote on SB 79 as soon as tonight after 9pm or more likely tomorrow morning. After the Assembly votes, it will go to Senate for approval. We still have a chance to stop it – but only if enough voices speak up now.

I am writing in strong opposition to SB 79. Enough is enough!
Senator Wiener has amended it 13 times and it still remains completely unacceptable. Nearly all cities have approved Housing Elements, making SB 79 superfluous and unnecessary.
It would introduce unacceptable uncertainty into the plans that took years and millions of dollars to complete. The recent amendments do nothing to alleviate concerns about overdevelopment high fire danger severity zones. And it still has woefully inadequate affordability requirements.
It’s time to end this charade. Please vote NO on SB 79!
