For all the rolling up of sleeves and “everything is going to change” exuberance, however, taking on the Pentagon, with its mega-budget and its mega-power, may be the hardest task he faces.

A victory for people power : the libraries and rec centers stay open … for now. After a two hour hearing, the San Diego City Council voted 6 to 1 to keep the 7 libraries and 10 Rec Centers open.

Ocean Beach business – Falling Sky Pottery – commits to donate 5% of sales to the Ocean Beach library, from December 7th to December 21st.

Rick Nadeau, best of friends, writer for the OB Rag, intellectual par excellence, passed on November 20th. Rick had been fighting cancer for the past two years, and finally took his last breath while in the arms of his love and wife, Diana, at their home in Sacramento. A Memorial service for Rick will be held on December 13th in Sacramento. His San Diego friends will be organizing a wake here in town.
