Rick Nadeau, best of friends, writer for the OB Rag, intellectual par excellence, passed on November 20th. Rick had been fighting cancer for the past two years, and finally took his last breath while in the arms of his love and wife, Diana, at their home in Sacramento. A Memorial service for Rick will be held on December 13th in Sacramento. His San Diego friends will be organizing a wake here in town. See the many comments made by friends and family, including memoria by his spouse, Diana Tumminia, and good friend, Gregg Robinson.

Late this afternoon, the San Diego City Council delayed any decision on Mayor Jerry Sander’s budget cutting proposals until another special meeting that they will hold on Monday, November 24th, from 1 to 4 pm. The Council, sitting as the budget review committee and chaired by Councilmember Toni Atkins, held its meeting before a packed Chambers, as they considered Mayor Sanders’ proposals – the closing of 7 libraries – including the Ocean Beach branch, and 9 recreation centers, including the Point Loma Cabrillo Center.
