The Rag staff is proud to announce that our recent annual fundraiser has broken all of our records — and produced the largest one-time donation in our history.
Overall, the fundraiser that we began 2 weeks ago has exceeded our goal of $3,000 — over 3 times. At this moment, we have received $9,350 in contributions — we are closing the campaign but there may be some checks to our PO Box still to arrive.
And one anonymous donor sent us a check for $3,000! This is a record for us. They wish to remain anonymous but we have met them in the past — and we thanked them profusely upon receiving their check.
This all of course means the Rag can continue in earnest; we can pay our bills and then some, and maybe take on some new writers / reporters (see Rag want ads).
Big thanks to all who donated — we are so proud of our readers and supporters; somebody out there loves us! Nearly 20 people sent us $100 or more. That’s incredible.
We’re definitely energized and inspired by all this support. Many donors told us ‘the Rag is needed now more than ever.’
Plus we’re proud of our reporters and writers — people like Geoff Page, Kate Callen, Ernie McCray, Paul Krueger, Kathy Blavatt, JW August, Joni Halpern, Colleen O’Connor, Judi Curry, Lynne Miller and Charlie Landon.

You and your staff SHOULD be compensated for the yeoman’s work you put into this “rag.” It covers the valuable information desperately needed by the concerned citizens of SD. Well done and my thanks to you, the writers and staff.
I hope you tone down the anti-trump progressive rhetoric and focus on the meat and potatos of over development and adu garbage!

With regard to your comment, “Somebody out there loves us!”, well, even a mother loves their ne’er-do-well son once in a while, that still makes him a ne’er-do-well ! Right Frank, I mean, as a ne’er-do-well you ought to know! Did you like the dollar bill i sent you after wiping with it?
We posted this comment by “Kenny” who as a true troll comes on here nearly daily and makes derogatory comments about either me or the Rag. They’re usually blocked. He or she also knows how to change their email address on a daily basis. (Today it’s “frankswallowscuntjuice@gmail.com”) But I wanted Kenny to have to respond to the fact that the Rag just had record-breaking amounts of donations. Whadda say now, ol Kenny or whatever your troll name is tomorrow?
The people of San Diego have much to thank the Rag for. You are doing an amazing job of highlighting the questionable and unacceptable practices of a City Hall that has operated under the radar and unscrutinized for far too long. THANK YOU! You deserve our support.
