Editor: Our good friend, John Story, was happening by the commotion at Abbott and Voltaire on Wednesday and was surprised to see what was coming down. Literally – the 2 story units at that corner are modular and can be installed relatively very quickly.

I’m glad to see something more interesting to look at than the prisonesque stucco compounds along that street. And I’m sure the neighbors didn’t miss months of noisy construction that would have taken place for a site built project.
I live in the area and am more concerned about upward pressure this project puts on all ready astronomical rents around here. Also, there are other options to stucco, by tve way. This project has zero OB character.
This project is great and I have been sad to see people on here talk it down. It is not some millionaire home and the people doing it are as good as you get. Great addition to the area. I wish them all the luck in the world.
Are the owners going to be living on the property? Or will they be absentee landlord/property speculators as many of the new developments around OB are?
How about tearing down all the multi-unit buildings and put in single unit owner-occupied houses. Would you be in favor of that?
How about we abolish all community planning allowing property speculators to build whatever they choose. Would you be in favor of that?
