Early on the morning of Christmas Eve 2024 the Ocean Beach Municipal Pier suffered another piling lost. Close to a year ago the first piling was lost on December 29th 2023. This very short video by Charles Landon shows both losses.

Wouldn’t it make sense to dismantle the pier before it falls into the ocean? A good time to start would be now.
The rebuild as proposed may never happen since there is no money for the lavish structure. Maybe a simpler shorter fishing pier could be constructed sooner with an expansion in the future???
Do you have any money? The city doesn’t or you’d be financing a mega shelter instead.
This is all the more reason to lobby the city to move on with the new pier design more rapidly. The present schedule appears to have slipped some so maybe it is time to hustle up and have the city catch up
