Over 3,000 No Kings Events Planned for March 28; More Events Added Daily
Organizers anticipate record-setting attendance; Interactive map of locations available at NoKings.org
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – With less than two weeks to go until the next national No Kings Day of Nonviolent Action, organizers across the nation are now planning over 3,000 local events – more than any previous No Kings national mobilization. More events are being added daily.
Last June, more than five million people took to the streets across more than 2,100 events during the coalition’s first day of action. Then, more than seven million people protested across more than 2,700 events last October. The March 28 mobilization is the next step in this growing movement, with organizers anticipating it will be one of the largest single-day nonviolent nationwide protests in U.S. history.
“Just months ago, millions of people took to the streets across thousands of events to say no to Trump’s abuses of power, and today that movement is only growing. With every ICE raid, every escalation abroad, and every abuse of power at home, Americans are rising up in opposition to Trump’s attempt to rule through fear and force. Each day Trump crosses a new red line, and more people are deciding they’ve had enough,” said Ezra Levin, Co-Executive Director of Indivisible. “That is why people across the country are organizing, showing up for their neighbors, and making one thing unmistakably clear: we are done with the corruption, the cruelty, and the authoritarianism. This No Kings will be the largest protest in American history. We are all united in this fight to save our democracy from this administration, and we will win. From every corner of this country, we are all saying: NO KINGS.”
“On March 28, we will come together to show that our communities reject corruption, senseless war, and division,” said MoveOn Civic Action Executive Director Katie Bethell. “Instead we welcome immigrants, believe in the rule of law, and stand up for an economy that works for everyone. More of us than ever before will rise up, because America does not belong to strongmen or those who rule through fear. It belongs to us, the people.
“Americans may disagree on policy, but we agree on two fundamental values: that we should be governed by ourselves, not kings, and that there is a basic goodness at our core. That’s why I’m not surprised that millions of Americans refuse to be cowed by the federal government’s abuses of power and are saying ‘count me in’ for No Kings,” said AFT President Randi Weingarten. “America is at an inflection point. Our communities are hurting. People are afraid, and they can’t afford basic necessities. It’s time the administration listened and helped them build a better life rather than stoking hate and fear. That’s why record numbers of us will again take to the streets on March 28 to protect our neighbors, schools and hospitals from the illegal actions of a wannabe king.”
“Last October, more than seven million Americans made history, making No Kings in October the largest single day of protest in America so far. On March 28, we’ll be out in even greater numbers,” said Deirdre Schifeling, Chief Political and Advocacy Officer for the American Civil Liberties Union. “This unprecedented mobilization is the American people saying NO to President Trump’s violent, inhumane treatment of our immigrant neighbors, attacks on our freedom of speech and voting rights, and the weaponization of the federal government. “President Donald Trump has promoted violence, hatred, lawlessness and chaos across the country, proving time and time again that he is not a leader,” said Public Citizen Co-President Lisa Gilbert. “Despite Trump and his administration’s incessant attacks on our communities and the rule of law, the No Kings movement has showcased the resilience of American communities, becoming a form of catharsis for the American people in a time of darkness. As we approach our country’s 250th birthday, we urge all fellow Americans to join the No Kings movement as a show of patriotism and a vision of the country we deserve.”
“There’s an affordability crisis in this country — people can’t afford groceries or healthcare — but this administration is focused on expanding its power, starting unnecessary wars that benefit billionaires, and targeting immigrants and citizens who dare to stand up for them,” said Joseph Bryant, executive vice president of the Service Workers International Union (SEIU). “Working people have had enough. We demand money, power and respect. On March 28, SEIU members will be joining the No Kings Protests across the country to take charge of our future and build towards an economic and political system that works for all of us.”
“In this country, we don’t do kings,” said Human Rights Campaign President Kelley Robinson. “And the American people are saying that with a clear, unwavering, and historic voice. On March 28, millions of us will come together to reject the attacks on LGBTQ+ people, the deadly occupation of our cities, and the assaults on our freedoms and demand a nation that lives up to its promise. Millions of us will take to the streets to declare that this country belongs to we, the people.”
“Across the country, educators and parents are standing up to the extreme overreach of Donald Trump. His administration has attacked our students, undermined public schools, and used tactics like deploying ICE to intimidate and traumatize our communities,” said National Education Association President Becky Pringle. “In rural, suburban, and urban communities alike, people of all races and backgrounds are coming together to say, ‘Enough!’ With more than 3,000 events already planned and new volunteers signing up every day, this growing, nonviolent movement will continue to protect our students, our communities, and our democracy from Trump’s authoritarianism and abuses of power.”
“Since the last time we marched, this administration has dragged us deeper into war: sending brave American service members into harm’s way and leaving their families to carry the weight of that loss,” said Naveed Shah, Political Director of Common Defense. “At home, we’ve watched citizens killed in the streets by militarized forces. We’ve seen families torn apart and immigrant communities targeted. All of it done in the name of one man trying to rule like a king. But we know who we are. We fought for a democracy. And in this country we say it loud: no kings here.
“The next No Kings protest will mark the largest collective exercise of free speech in American history — an undeniable indicator that Americans of all backgrounds support democracy and the Constitution,” said Sarah Kate Ellis, President and CEO of GLAAD. “The administration’s attacks on LGBTQ people, especially transgender Americans, spanning from health care to military service to accessing accurate IDs, are a threat to freedom for everyone and out of step with what millions of Americans care about. The power of our voices to oppose authoritarianism and recent gross government overreaches can never be overstated. America is for all of us, not some of us.”
On No Kings Day, working families are sending a message loud and clear: We will not back down. Nationwide, millions of people are struggling to make ends meet as billionaires drive up the cost of living while cashing in massive tax breaks at the expense of our health care and ability to get ahead,” said AFSCME President Lee Saunders. “Now is the time for working people to take a stand to protect our communities, defend our union freedoms and strengthen our democracy. When we stand together and organize, we can build a fairer economy that treats all people with respect and dignity, where no one lives in fear – that’s the future we’re fighting for.”
“This administration may serve the billionaire class, but our movement serves the people,” Rebecca Winter, 50501 spokesperson and Executive Director of Mass 50501 said. “On March 28, We the People are We the Powerful. We will show our power, build our power, and use our power to fight for a democracy that works for everyone.”
Voto Latino: “This nation was founded on a revolutionary promise: the rejection of absolute power. As we approach our 250th anniversary, that promise is being tested by leaders who ignore the millions of Americans watching the American Dream slip away. On March 28, we are mobilizing to protect our children, families, and communities from the overreach of unchecked power.
This movement is a testament to the strength of collective action. We are sending a clear message that our communities and allies will not be intimidated by fear-mongering or division. Progress is driven by people who show up and lead together. The administration may be looking the other way, but on No Kings Day, the American people will be impossible to ignore.”
“Our generation is fed up with the lies, violence, and lack of accountability with this administration,” said Nathan Taylortaft, high school student and co-director of East Valley Unite. “ICE has kidnapped our friends, but we’re not scared. Schools have retaliated against our walkouts, but we’re not afraid. The administration is trying to take away our future, but we’re not intimidated. They are scared of us, because they know We the People have the power. That’s why we will fight for a democracy that works for us, by mobilizing in unprecedented numbers on March 28.”

Leading up to March 28, the No Kings Coalition has also been holding “Eyes on ICE” training programs, nationwide virtual training sessions designed to equip Americans with tools to exercise their rights and legally monitor federal enforcement actions as safely as possible. Hundreds of thousands of people have taken these trainings.
Groups organizing the nonviolent and lawful No Kings protests across the country include ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, 50501, Human Rights Campaign, Indivisible, League of Conservation Voters, MoveOn, National Education Association, National Nurses United, Public Citizen, SEIU, United We Dream, among others. All No Kings events adhere to a shared commitment to nonviolent and lawful protest and community safety. Organizers are trained in de-escalation, every local event has a safety lead, and organizers are coordinating closely with local partners to ensure powerful, nonviolent local actions.
