OB Rag Continues its Documentation of Antiwar Protest Arrests Due to Lack of Mainstream Media Coverage
From March 15, 2008, through to the end of that month, during the “March Madness” of antiwar protests across the country, 365 people were arrested at antiwar protests, demonstrations, and sit-ins. (This is an update of an earlier estimate, go here for it.) The arrests represent a new phase of the American antiwar movement, a more militant, more decentralized, and more youthful movement. The following cities witnessed these arrests:

On one level, even 365 arrests are not that much. In the run-up to the war when massive protests were being held, I believe over 300 people were arrested in San Francisco alone.
But that’s not the point – the point is that the mainstream corporate media are again not disclosing to the citizenry the extent of the antiwar movement in this country or in other countries. The closest account was from Reuters which claimed nearly 200 were arrested.
