Biker In Critical Condition After Losing Control of Motorcycle Along Sunset Cliffs Blvd

A 29-year-old man is in critical condition after losing control of his motorcycle on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, on Sunday, March 16.

The unidentified biker sustained severe injuries, including multiple abrasions, a spinal fracture, a skull base fracture and a laceration to his leg. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police suspect alcohol to be a factor in this collision.

Police said the man, riding southbound in the 1200 block of Sunset Cliffs Blvd was riding a blue 2013 Harley Davidson Iron 883, and fell off his motorcycle in his attempt to drive through a curve. Police responded at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

SDPD’s Traffic Division will be handling the investigation. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to call SDPD’s Traffic Division or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.

    I wonder how many folks simply ignored this portion of the story? I wonder if Pat’s and others would be sympathetic to this man if he killed one of their relatives in a DUI?

  2. John, you’re right. I read about his very serious injuries and my heart went out, but I didn’t read the rest. It’s hard on everyone when one makes a very poor decision to drink and drive. Luckily this guy didn’t hurt or kill anyone.

    1. Pat’s, I too hope that he recovers from his injuries. Let’s hope that includes his recognizing his own culpability in this “accident.”

  3. Yep. That would be a stretch. No one else involved, leaves no one else to blame.
    I caution my grandson who doesn’t own a bike, thank goodness, about drinking away from home, and how serious it can get in the blink of an eye, when speeding. Fingers crossed for this young man, for sure.
