Source Inside Federal Agency: ‘Federal Personnel Office and Musk Can’t Find Fired Employees — Want Them to Pledge Not to Sue’

From the trenches…..”S” a long time source working for a federal agency in a management position tells me this will be news in the very near future–

The federal OPM (office of personnel management) and Elon Musk fired thousands of probationary employees who had signed up for the “fork in the road” (the deferred resignation offer).

Musk and the OPM are now backtracking, asking agencies to bring these workers back so they can sign an additional agreement to qualify for the deferred resignation offer. In addition, they have to sign another document promising not to sue and that they agree with the terms of the resignation.

“Agencies are struggling to find these employees because they don’t have  updated contact information and their work profiles have been deleted,” said “S”.

There are over 50,000 employees affected.

This was a topic of discussion on Wednesday, Feb. 19 in all federal agencies.

  1. Interesting, thanks for sharing this.

Seems like there is a whole lot of shenanigans going on at OPM. One major thing I have yet to get a straight forward answer about, is if the person who gave the news of the firings, Charles Ezell, actually exists.

I know that sounds crazy, but… This whole situation is batty.

In court on Feb 17th, Musk’s lawyers made clear that he is not a federal employee and did not fire any employees. Heads of government agencies did. The acting head of OPM under DOGE is Charles Ezell. He is the one that sent emails containing memos to all employees and told them to send responses to Amanda Scales. He is even named in a lawsuit, but there seems to be no record of him appearing in court.

Further, when he fired employees during a conference call last week, he did so using a pre-recorded message…? I mean seriously… I know that’s crazy, but compared to everything else so far, Musk creating a fake person to hold a position in name and take the fall for his on the milder side of insane explanations.
