That is well said but what justice are we getting?
Most of us are very happy to see this crook convicted but this is hardly justice for everything this man has caused, the current Supreme Court being his worst legacy. I don’t see justice coming from this group, or for its actions, for many, many years.
People need to understand that when they vote for a President, they are voting for the group they want to run the country, not for a man. Which group do you want running things?
Agreed, although he probably shouldn’t be sentenced to jail time given he has no criminal history (at least none that is on record). Also, this definitely hasn’t dissuaded his supporters, it actually has inspired them even more.
He ABSOLUTELY should be sentenced to a cell. His lawyer/fixer Cohen was doing Trump’s bidding so why is he so special? Cohen had no priors, either, and that didn’t help him in federal court. Nor the other Trump clown that went to prison for the same crimes that the orange sociopath had him do.
Then add in the absolutely sneering ‘no remorse’ for what he did (just like in the E.Jean Carrol case with the defamation ongoing), and breaking the court gag order TEN TIMES which would have landed you or I behind bars for the first one!!). The threats and the cussing and the glaring witness intimidation crap that was actually directed at his under-educated cult followers to go and do something (and they sure have over the last four years, yes? As Paul Pelosi found out with a hammer to his head…
Let Trump, at the very least, be treated like any other citizen of this country that was busted for a non-violent crime…like say cannabis in the last 90 years. That would be reasonable don’t ya think?
And GML, as an adjudicated rapist, it may not be exactly criminal but that should count, yes?
If NY State has similar laws as Cali, I’m assuming that on July 11th he’s going to be led out of the courtroom to holding cell. When you’ve been found guilty, you go to sentencing and then you are led out after you’ve been handcuffed at the defense table. SOP for convicted felons, even non-violent ones.
And that’s when the appeals process starts. When you are sitting in a barred concrete cubicle with a metal toilet/sink and metal bed waiting for visiting hours with your court-appointed lawyer to figure out the appeal.

But, as we all know (even if we wish it was different), that there is a two-tier legal system in this country, the wealthy/powerful and then the rest of us. We’ve seen it happen too many times to not be at least that aware of how stinky the judicial process actually is.
As the Kingpin who directed it all, commander of those that went to prison already for him, he should at the very least be sentenced to more than was required of the henchmen. Remember, the buck stops at the top where the responsibility actually lies, right?
But I do feel sorry for the Secret Service guys that follow him into a county lockup, then to prison. I very much doubt they will be be allowed firearms inside. But on the bright side, he’ll have the neoNazi and Racists on his side so he will have ‘protection.’

President George Washington proudly declared there will be no nobility in America. We are a nation of laws and none of us are above the law.
An orange jumpsuit for the orange hair. How appropriate!
All three of the other cases against Trump are being blocked by Republicans. They sure are good at obstruction.
Sadly he will likely never spend a single day in jail and comically the 34 guilty verdicts hasn’t dissuaded his supporters in the least.

Other people convicted of similar charges received years in prison. Michael Cohen, for instance. Why not him?

As the 4-Skins accurately said in 1981:
Different crimes, including lying to congress.
