Here are the promos:

About the book

Sunset Cliffs Park meanders along a mile and a half of San Diego’s coastline, beckoning tourists and locals alike. These stunning cliffs inspired Albert Spalding, sportsman and visionary, to create a park in 1915 for all to enjoy.

In the century since, many have left their mark, including the powerful Pacific Ocean. John Mills, an enterprising land baron, restored the original park, only to have it fall into neglect during the Depression and World War II. It became a popular spot for pioneering surfers and divers in the postwar boom, and the park’s colorful landscape attracted artists and children. Join author Kathy Blavatt as she relates the many transformations of this beloved park and looks to us future.

Frank and Friends—
I am excited about this book finely coming out— it was supposed to come out in May 2020, but COVID held it up. Since live programs and book signings are on hold, I am working on ways to get the book out.
In writing this 60,000+ word book with color photos, I thought I knew most of the history of the “Cliffs” having lived in on Sunset Cliffs Blvd. near Ladera, and I was married at Villa Surf— but I realized that the Sunset Cliffs history is like writing five or more histories, because it changed so much every few decades. If you love Sunset Cliffs Park, I think you’ll enjoy the book. More info. to come, see at http://www.blavatt.wordpress.com, towards release date Oct. 12.— Kathy Blavatt
