The OB Pier – January 17, 2018
by Joaquin Antique
Since it’s has been inaccessible the last couple days due to high surf, I thought I’d put together a collection of current and past photos with a pier theme.

Glass mosaic patchwork.
The San Diego Reader recently had a great article by Delinda Lombardo about Jan Manning, the woman responsible for the pier mosaics:

The café from the end of the pier on a foggy day

“Castles made of sand fall in the sea, eventually”. Jimi Hendrix

Another year of high surf, but no pier closure that time.

Sunny days, less gnarly.

Everyone likes the Cafe’s Spanish rice.

Flying Spaghetti Monster sighting!

Good old days with the pier’s ambassador.

Great pix, Joaq, especially the one of the ambassador . . . I remember him from back in “the day” . . . or maybe it was his father . . .
Sometimes we take our environment for granted and when we can’t have it, we get stressed. I used to take LSD and go for walks with friends on the pier late at night, like 2 am.
WTF?? Is this just random word association?
