From OBTC
At the very next OB Town Council meeting on Wednesday, June 28th, there will be an “OB Bike Infrastructure & Advocacy Panel Discussion”.
The OBTC has invited local and regional bike advocates and experts to present opportunities for bicycle infrastructure in OB, including the resurfacing of Bacon Street, round-abouts, speed bumps, one-way streets, and protected bike paths.
Come share your ideas, concerns, and interests – and let’s increase people powered transit in Ocean Beach!
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 28th, 7:00pm at the Masonic Center, 1711 Sunset Cliffs Blvd.

One reason Bacon St is so nice for bikes is that the rough old paving slows cars down.
There is no free lunch when it comes to bikes/pedestrians and cars. If we want a greener OB, that means making driving and parking more expensive, less available, and less convenient.
The best way to do this is parking meters on Newport and at least part of the beach lots. Free parking that always runs out means cars circling and idling waiting for a spot, which is even worse than thru traffic.
I totally agree with you!
Well, hell yeah! Let’s get these folks who’ve lived here for 40-50 years outta town! No reason to live here if you’re too old for a bike??
