Historical Society Presents Jim Peugh
Come one, come all – out to the next OB Historical Society presentation – this one on the history of Famosa Slough – the body of water just next to northeast Ocean Beach along the San Diego River.
Jim Peugh – chair of the board of directors of the Friends of Famosa Slough – will be giving the presentation about its history. It was once an ice age coastal canyon, and it once was on the City’s chopping block to be sold off to developers.
It will be held Thursday night, April 16th, 7 pm, at the United Methodist Church at 1984 Sunset Cliffs.

Is the Famosa Slough the body of water between the Big Jetty and Robb Field?, commonly known as “The Bay”. There were hydroplane races there when I was a kid. 50’s. It was pretty thrilling when the boats hit a sandbar. And there were some nice little Bass holes too.
