The OB Rag has received communication from Wal-Mart and they deny that they plan to open any kind of store in Ocean Beach.
We heard back from Rachel Wall, Sr. Manager of Communications, Public Affairs & Government Relations for Wal-Mart corporate. She issued the following with reference to the former Apple Tree Market site:
Walmart has no plans at this location though we are continually looking for ways to better serve our customers in San Diego.
