If you enjoy reading the OB Rag – now that we’re in our sixth year – think about what it takes to make this website a reality.  We’re mostly all volunteers – but we do have costs that we’ve got to cover: our server bill, our rent at the office, small stipends to a few writers, gas, …

Here’s what we offer:

  • Online news about Ocean Beach, Point Loma and the Peninsula communities;
  • Environmental news and issues;
  • Activism news
  • News and reports of OB Planning Board and OB Town Council meetings;
  • Restaurant Reviews
  • Updates on OB’s Business Community

The OB Rag has a daily average readership of over 1500, and our monthly average is 65,000 readers.

So, if you do like what we’re doing, show us some love!

A former lawyer and current grassroots activist, I have been editing the Rag since Patty Jones and I launched it in Oct 2007. Way back during the Dinosaurs in 1970, I founded the original Ocean Beach People’s Rag - OB’s famous underground newspaper -, and then later during the early Eighties, published The Whole Damn Pie Shop, a progressive alternative to the Reader.
