A person was found aboard a sailboat that was trapped on rocks near the Ocean Beach jetty early Tuesday, Sept. 1, and was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
Around 6:39 a.m., lifeguards found a sailboat trapped on the North Channel jetty with one person aboard. Rescuers then had to extricate that person from the boat.
Authorities believe the occupant was trapped for “some time” before being rescued. Fire paramedics took them to the hospital.
Fire officials were working with the Coast Guard to wait until high tide to remove the boat from the rocks.
