My experience as a former District Two Council Member and Lifeguard taught me that most of our elected officials do not represent the communities. They spend their careers pleasing special interest to ensure they get donations for their next office. When deciding who to vote for please follow the money. The other candidates in this race are already indebted to special interests. They are getting ads paid for by committees and parties who spin the truth. When you are flooded with campaign mailers take a look at the bottom to see who funded it. Then you will know who will own that candidate. Mandy is the real deal. She’s not bought and paid for by special interests.
She hasn’t sold out our neighborhoods, our coastline, or our community values for political favors or insider backing. She’s independent, she’s authentic, and she’s exactly the kind of leader we need at City Hall right now.
We do not need another rubber stamp politician. We need someone who will fight for our communities, protect our coastline, defend the quality of life in our neighborhoods, and actually listen to the people who live here. That’s Mandy Havlik. Mandy is a military wife, and it was the Navy that brought Mandy and her family here to San Diego. She fell in love with this community and has spent years giving back and serving the people of District 2.
From the Ocean Beach Town Council, to the Ocean Beach Community Foundation, to the Point Loma Rotary Club, to the Sunset Cliffs Natural Park Council, to serving the last seven years on the Peninsula Community Planning Board, Mandy has consistently been a trusted advocate and helper in our community.
And honestly, these are only a few of the things I can highlight. Mandy has done so much for our neighborhoods over the years, I couldn’t possibly list it all in one endorsement. She doesn’t just talk about community, she lives it.
We need someone at City Hall like Mandy, someone who genuinely cares, who shows up, and who will fight for the people instead of political insiders. That’s why I’ll be voting for Mandy Havlik for San Diego City Council District 2, and why I’m proud to endorse her.

I just got another text from Liuna 89 including “the Democrat Choice Voter Guide” for Josh Coyne. The machine is spending a lot of money trying to maintain the broken status quo. Please see beyond the special interests and vote for Mandy Havlik.
Totally agree with you. Mandy truly cares and that to me is most important. She isn’t beholding to anyone but her love for District 2.
Josh Coyne is the MOST pro Midway Rising candidate. So, all those opposed to it should take note. I wish there was some polling on this and other county and state races besides the one for governor so it would be easier to cote strategically.
In reality, the former GOP mayor of Coronado is a lock on the vote from angry homeowners. The best and only strategy I can see is to vote Mandy Havlik. We desperately need another candidate that isn’t following the Build Baby Build matra & being funded by the Developers and construction industries calling themselves YIMBY. It’s really important to show Gloria’s lapdogs the door. REALLY important to eliminate them now in the Primary.
I see your point. However, at the last debate for city council 2 held by the League of Women Voters that I watched on YouTube, Crosby did seem more moderate than Coyne. She seemed more willing to demand more infrastructure improvements before signing on to Midway Rising. So, I was just concerned about having to choose between Bailey and Coyne in November.
Then again, Crosby should get the most default votes since she’s the one endorsed by the Democratic Party and other typical big backers of Democrats. So, it should be safe to vote for Havlik since Crosby will probably finish in the top 2 vote getters anyway. ???
