February 1st Sunday to February 5th Thursday film “The Voice of Hind Rajab” Recommended by Jewish Voice for Peace San Diego Angelika Film Center Carmel Mountain Today, we’re joining communities around the world in remembering Hind Rajab and the at least 20,000 children killed in Gaza since October 2023. Her final hours should never be forgotten. The Voice of Hind Rajab, a film depicting the final moments of a 5 year old Palestinian girl surrounded by the IOF on January 29, 2024. Israeli soldiers killed 6 members of Hind’s family by shooting 335 bullets into their car. Hind was surrounded by their bodies for hours as she hid from Israeli tanks and called paramedics for help. Then, Israeli soldiers killed her and the 2 paramedics who came to her rescue. Please join our community in watching this important film and never let the world forget her name or the countless lives taken from us by the zionist state. Demand that your senators push for unlimited aid into Gaza to comply with international law. The children of Gaza deserve better from us. February 2nd. Monday 3 pm – 5 pm Take Back Our Power! (from SDG&E) Event by San Diego350 Join our coalition action to protest SDG&E and PG&E’s leaders and demand affordable, clean energy for all San Diegans. This is our chance to tell SDG&E President Scott Crider and PG&E Vice President for Strategy & Innovation, Mike Delaney that we’re taking back our power! San Diegans are tired of paying some of the highest rates in the entire country and skyrocketing utility profits that come out of our pocketbooks These utility leaders are speaking in the opening keynote address at the Shell for D-TECH, a utility industry conference with roughly 20,000 attendees happening at our Convention Center in Downtown San Diego.
They need to hear from hundreds of San Diegans! We’ll have big banners to get attention for our message, and leaflets to hand out to conference attendees and passers by. And we’ll hold a press event. Not only is SDG&E ripping us off (making nearly $1 billion in profits each year), but the exorbitant rates we pay are funding their efforts to kill rooftop solar, block the electrification of homes and transportation, and buy regulators. At a time when nearly a quarter of San Diego families can’t afford their energy bills, we say: This. Must. Stop. Cosponsors: ACCE San Diego, Interfaith Coalition for Earth Justice, Public Power San Diego, Climate Action Campaign, In Good Company. LOCATION NOTE: We’ll be at the back of the Convention Center, between the steps and the Rady Shell Closest trolley: Gaslamp (green line).
