Jamacha Neighborhood Council Flags Application Discrepancies in Controversial Jamacha Bonus ADU Project and urges the owner, Godavari LLC, and the City of San Diego to immediately halt the 1441 Woodrow Ave project.

The Jamacha Neighborhood Council (JNC), representing residents of the Jamacha community, is calling on the City of San Diego to halt the proposed six two-story, 12-unit Bonus ADU project at 1441 Woodrow Ave and to revise city policy to exclude communities of concern in

  • Investors and developers are outbidding first-time home buyers and lowering the inventory of fixer-upper homes.
  • Infrastructure Strain: Outdated utilities, inadequate park space, and insufficient public services make Jamacha ill-equipped for increased density.
  • Equity Concerns: JNC argues the Bonus ADU program is being unfairly applied to lower-income, culturally diverse neighborhoods without new infrastructure and demands exclusion of such areas from the program.

Additionally, JNC calls on the City of San Diego to continue amending the ADU Bonus code:

  •  Exclude communities of concern in RS 1-7 zones from the Bonus ADU program,
  • Require all affordable housing to be deed-restricted for at least 55 years,
  • Apply housing policies equitably citywide, including RS 1-7 zones.
