January 12th Sunday 12 pm – 2 pm Protest Rodeo @ Petco Park #3 Event by Ellen Ericksen and Sidney Didelphis Petco Park 100 Park Blvd, San Diego 92101….Shame on the Padres, PETCO, Todd Gloria and the San Diego City Council for not cancelling this cruel event and allowing this to happen again. We will protest outside the entrance to the rodeo. All materials provided. Animals used in rodeos have suffered fatal injuries, including broken backs and necks, heart attacks, and aneurysms. Those who manage to make it through unscathed are given little time to rest or recuperate. They are loaded into trucks, hauled to the next event, and forced to participate over and over again. When they become too old or worn out to continue, “retirement” is often a one-way trip to the slaughterhouse. There is nothing kind about rodeos, they are extreme animal abuse. Materials provided. Please feel free to bring homemade signs. We will be protesting at Home Plate Gate and two others gates. Meet up location TBA. January 15th Wednesday 5 pm – 6:30 pm Resist US-Led War Network Meeting Online Recommended by Peace Resource Center The war machine is lining up its chess pieces for the new Trump administration with expansion of the proposed $850 billion U.S. military budget. But the people are building a growing movement for just peace and self-determination. In the US we took to the streets during the election against the two war-parties, in Korea millions took up a general strike overturning Martial Law, in Okinawa thousands protested the rape cases by US soldiers and the US-Japan alliance, and we protested new US-Philippine coordination centers. No matter where we are in the world, we are uniting and organizing to fight against US-led war and militarism. We invite Resist Members, individuals, and organizations interested in participating in the network’s campaigns. The first Resist US-Led War Movement network meeting of 2025 to discuss how we build the solid strength of the anti-war movement: More info: https://www.instagram.com/resistusledwar/ and https://www.facebook.com/prcsd/
