December 6th Friday 7 pm – 9 pm Resisting Reagan: Global and Local Solidarities In Reactionary Times Event by Jewish Voice for Peace San Diego The Gathering Place 3850 Westgate Place San Diego 92105 This lecture and Q&A will be co-hosted by UCSD professors Dr. Daniel Widener, Dr. Jody Blanco, and Dr. Ivan Evans who will be discussing the 1980’s solidarity movement in South Africa, Central America, Northern Ireland, the Philippines, Palestine, and Lebanon. As covered in “Los Angeles Intifada”, the recommended reading for this event, Kahanism and the terrorist group, the Jewish Defense League, made their way into Los Angeles in 1972 when a pipe bomb was detonated outside the Lebanese consulate on Hollywood Boulevard. December 8th Sunday 9:30 am – 11 am   Coastal Roots monthly farm tour Coastal Roots Farm 441 Saxony Road Encinitas 92024 Coastal Roots Farm is a nonprofit community farm and education center grounded in Jewish values. We practice regenerative farming on 18-acres of certified-organic farmland, growing more than 80,000 pounds of food which gets shared with 45,000 people annually. Most of our harvest (75%) is donated to food insecure community members. Please be aware of our new ticket system: Due to limited time and resources, availability to be seen is based on a first come first serve basis. If you are unable to find the location, please ask a security member for directions.
