Some notes on Faulconer and Trump:
- As a candidate for Governor in 2021, Republican Kevin Faulconer boasted that he had voted for Trump in 2020 and defended Trump even after the January 6th insurrection, stating that Trump was the right choice.
- A review of Faulconer’s campaign filings shows that MAGA Republicans, including Trump delegates and major contributors, are bankrolling his campaigns, including but not limited to:
- Kevin Faulconer’s gubernatorial campaign was fueled by donations from prominent Trump megadonors, including $128,800 from Darwin and Kimberly Deason, who previously contributed $1 million to support Donald Trump’s election.
- Faulconer’s campaign received $64,800 from Edward Glazer, a Trump megadonor who contributed over $300,000 to Trump-related initiatives.
- Real estate magnate Geoff Palmer, one of Trump’s most loyal financial backers, donated $32,400 to Faulconer’s campaign, aligning Faulconer with key figures in Trump’s donor network.
- Billionaire developer ‘Papa’ Doug Manchester, a major Faulconer supporter and top Trump donor, contributed over $1 million to Trump’s efforts and remains deeply embedded in Faulconer’s political circles. Manchester was a primary beneficiary of Faulconer’s pay-to-play 101 Ash Street Scandal
Need some better choices than Faulconer or Lawson-Remer. Ahhh, Darwin Deason, a Texas dinosaur billionaire with a La Jolla area coastal mansion.
This makes me chuckle because Faulconer would be considered a liberal in any red state. Regardless, his political career is done. Time to go find the cable news circuit. Gaspar got 40% of the vote in this district last time around.
I am not a Republican, however, until such time as the Democratic party advances candidates which represent my values, I will be voting Republican for all state and local offices. I am sick and tired of tax paying Californian’s getting shafted, while California spend billions of tax dollars on undocumented immigrants and unhoused individuals!

There was an attempt by the legislature to assist undocumented immigrants with buying homes that Newsome vetoed. And now it’s phone discounts. While others are still pushing on reparations. Not all rainbows and unicorns with this state gubbornment.
There’s different issues all mixed up here. Reparations are not for undocumented migrants.
Just saying how this legislature is all over the map with dysfunctional proposals.

Vern, that’s not totally true. Dems are split on these characters; the ones you mentioned are heavily criticized on the Rag and we’re a bunch of dems and other left-of-center politicos, including socialists, anarchists and progressives and radicals.
It’s confusing because we live in a one-party city — but there are big splits between the corporate Dems and the grassroots Dems.
And yet, they aren’t pushing for a post-constitutional America like the cons and their leader doesn’t paint his face orange and brag about being better than Abe Lincoln either.

The San Diego Democratic Party mailed me a keepsake the other day — a terrific flyer showing a big dark-tinted photograph of ex-Mayor Kevin Faulconer flanked by a yellow headline: “3 REASONS Kevin Faulconer was the WORST Mayor in San Diego history.”
Flipside: 1) a photo of infamous, asbestos-riddled, empty 101 Ash Street and a description of that costly scandal enabled by Hizzoner Faulconer; 2) the ex-mayor’s 84% rate of absenteeism from crucial SANDAG Board meetings while eying his run for Governor; 3) Faulconer’s documented flip-flopping on supporting Donald Trump, even after the January 6 insurrection — all to bolster what became a failed 2021 race for Governor.
Closing copy: “Kevin Faulconer was a DISASTER as Mayor. Let’s not give him a chance to screw up the entire County.”
P.S. Personally, I think present Dem Mayor Todd Gloria is cut from Faulconer cloth, but even worse, so I’m voting Larry Turner for Mayor.,
