We asked our community for $3,000 and you gave us $5,000! Incredible.
It’s all true — as of this morning, our annual summer campaign has raised $4,920.
This will definitely get us through the next year — our server costs nearly a thousand by its little own self — and we have the subscriber system to pay, plus we try to give many of our writers a little something for their work.
Part of the reason this season’s quest was so successful is because we’ve made new groupings of friends — from University Community, Uptown, Hillcrest, Mira Mesa — due to our championing of their causes. Yet in addition, our usual great supporters from Ocean Beach and Point Loma came through with more than the usual.
