  1. I drive down Canon to the docks from OB all the time and always wondered what that first structure pictured was. Looked very industrial but in a residential neighborhood. Anyone know the story behind that place?

  2. Thought we were in a housing crisis and here we have precious land that could be used for housing just rotting away with frozen tax basises.

Disincentivize non-owner occupied primary residence uses of housing! There is more than one way to increase supply and they don’t all have to line the pockets of big capital!

  3. Architect Tom Grondona owns that dilapidated castle as well as commercial property in Point Loma Village. He was a successful and award winning architect in the 80s and 90s, and hung with other award winning architects like Tom Smith and Rob Quigly, but since then he’s completely disappeared from the scene.

I surfed on over to the state architect’s licensing board web site yesterday and noticed that his architectural license was allowed to expire this past July.

There’s a story there, some reporter has to do some digging and knock on some doors. A good start would be his mailing address on Canon.
