Jim Grant is arguably one of the best photographers to ever walk the streets of OB.

According to the biologists/infectious disease specialists I’m talking to (and reading), this is the entire country in the next four weeks. At least the more intelligent parts of the country.

Then it gets worse.

How did this work out?

As the latter half of the 2nd Wave slams the ‘re-opened for bizness’ areas of the country, as people argue about the value of masks to the Trump Virus will go away like a miracle as sick people continue to radically increase daily while the crowds of people not paying attention because they are tired of it all (short attention spans, eh?) put themselves at risk in ways that they do not have the educational background to understand. So, in reply to your question, it has worked out just dandy for the billionaires like Amazon’s Bezos whose wealth has increased $10 BILLION a month since March! And you did get your $1,200, right?

I personally know two people who have died of this, one a 52 yr old extremely healthy organic farmer friend and the other being a 37 yr old firefight woman. Another local woman that has always been a very healthy ‘century’ bike rider who regularly rides 15 miles a day 27 yr old who ‘recovered’ and can barely function three months later. She is nearly bedridden and, like Tom Hanks reported, has a hard time thinking along with the physical ailments that continue to slam her in mid-July. And my county is one of the least affected in the state.

As my retired biologist/virologist ex-Army biological weapons lab neighbor keeps telling me, wait until August/Sept when the 2nd Wave is expected to slam into this country.

Think a ‘Mild’ Case of Covid-19 Doesn’t Sound So Bad? Think Again

Otherwise healthy people who thought they had recovered from coronavirus are reporting persistent and strange symptoms – including strokes

Conventional wisdom suggests that when a sickness is mild, it’s not too much to worry about. But if you’re taking comfort in World Health Organization reports that over 80% of global Covid-19 cases are mild or asymptomatic, think again. As virologists race to understand the biomechanics of Sars-CoV-2, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: even “mild” cases can be more complicated, dangerous and harder to shake than many first thought.

Throughout the pandemic, a notion has persevered that people who have “mild” cases of Covid-19 and do not require an ICU stay or the use of a ventilator are spared from serious health repercussions. Just last week, Mike Pence, the US vice-president, claimed it’s “a good thing” that nearly half of the new Covid-19 cases surging in 16 states are young Americans, who are at less risk of becoming severely ill than their older counterparts. This kind of rhetoric would lead you to believe that the ordeal of “mildly infected” patients ends within two weeks of becoming ill, at which point they recover and everything goes back to normal.
