Bird Droppings or a Waste of Technology?

Someone sent us this photo – it was seen on Social OB facebook. More bird droppings on Newport Avenue in OB or a sad waste of technology?

Is this OB’s answer to Mayor Faulconer’s new scooter regulations – which do not limit the number of scooters dumped on our sidewalks and streets? Or is it a display of ignorance in the way of progress to new forms of transportation?

Or is it a sign of very human responses to the excesses of unbridled capitalism taking over public space? What’s your take?

A former lawyer and current grassroots activist, I have been editing the Rag since Patty Jones and I launched it in Oct 2007. Way back during the Dinosaurs in 1970, I founded the original Ocean Beach People’s Rag - OB’s famous underground newspaper -, and then later during the early Eighties, published The Whole Damn Pie Shop, a progressive alternative to the Reader.

  1. More winking approval at vandalism of a green tech.

You’re with the Kochs on scooters, Papa Doug on AirBNB, and owners of $6 million dollar houses on affordable housing. Faux-progressive I’d say!

    1. zz- you really have totally turned things upside down, congratulations. Out of control billionaire dollar capitalist companies are hiding behind the “green tech” label and you’ve bought into it.

  2. The mayor’s regulations, approved by the city council, permit 16 scooters to be parked on the corner of Sunset Cliffs and Point Loma Ave.
