New Limebike Prototype Hits Ocean Beach

A new Limebike prototype hit Ocean Beach this morning.

A reader of ours talked to the guy dropping them off on Newport Avenue.

He was showing the local the changes made in response to community feedback specific to Ocean Beach.

He said most customers wanted extra cargo capacity for sleeping bags and alley finds, and also the convenience of potty on the go.

And with the salty air and toxicity issues they converted the battery power-assist to methane gas combustion, which they are marketing as the new “brown energy” wave.

He called it the “methpedaller”.

  1. A day late but very humorous none the less! We need more humor.

And….I’ve seen a couple of aluminum miners riding the new rental bikes about OB. It made me wonder, are they legit renters or have they found a work-around?

  2. I don’t think this is funny at all. It makes a stupid joke about one of OB most horrible problems which is a lack of public hygiene facilities. There are a few things I miss about OB, but what I don’t miss is the fact that the community allows endless bars, “tasting rooms” and the promotion of alcohol consumption and “frat boy” behavior while ignoring the real needs of the community.
