In January of this year, SeaWorld entered into an agreement with Evans Hotels to build a hotel at SeaWorld’s location in Mission Bay.

In its annual report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, corporate SeaWorld reported it and

Evans Hotel, a premier provider of resort accommodations, entered into a Limited Liability Company Agreement to develop, own and operate a hotel project (the “San Diego Hotel Project) to be located on the land that the Company leases from the City of San Diego.

This little bombshell is certain to set off alarm bells all over the beach area.

Bulldozers Move in to Sunset Cliffs Park – Ancient Eucalyptus Grove to Be Removed

Construction has begun in Sunset Cliffs Natural Park on Phase 2 of the “Hillside Improvement Project,” a component of the Sunset Cliffs Natural Park master plan. Heavy equipment has moved in to the park to begin grading the new trail system and prepare for the restorations that go along with it. Kyle Inse, biologist on the project, says that the project includes the installation of over 20,000 native plants endemic to the area. Recon Native Plant Company is collecting seed and growing the plants that will be installed.

Fifty years ago, American boys, most under 20 years of age, committed unspeakable acts against a civilian hamlet in Vietnam. Over 500 women, children (yes! there were babies!) and old men were slaughtered by American soldiers. Civilian “collateral damage” is a tragic cost of any war; the My Lai massacre only exemplified it at a highly public level.

The San Diego Chapter of Veterans For Peace is named after Hugh C. Thompson, the courageous US Army helicopter pilot who landed his chopper and, along with fellow crewmen, intervened against fellow American troops to end the carnage at My Lai.

Oh, I love those children.

Those beautiful bright young
high school Floridians,
boldly taking

our warped relations with guns,
standing steadfastly
as one,
in the faces of the NRA’s,
ne’er-do-well whores
who masquerade unconvincingly
as well meaning politicians,
demanding that they

in future elections.

The San Diego County’s Department of Environmental Health General Advisory for all San Diego coastal waters has been lifted except for La Jolla’s chronic areas and except for Dog Beach in OB.

The lifting of the general advisory includes Mission Bay and San Diego Bay.

But not for the San Diego River outlet to 300′ south – which is Dog Beach. And this is all because bacteria levels may exceed health standards due to most recent significant rain occurred on February 27, 2018.

Surfers, swimmers and dog-owners are advised to avoid contact with the ocean or river water in that area.
