Enough

We can bring the world to peace or let the tyrants rage,
we can watch the glaciers disappear or bring a golden age.
We can trick the genii back into the bottle once again,
plant trees throughout the world and watch them bring the rain.
We can see what people do when they have fresh air to breathe,
watch the children drink and play in water that is clean.
We can stop the bellicosity of people now in power,
stop them flying aeroplanes into assorted towers;
not let them sell us fear and take our freedom from us,
not let them tell us evil, is everywhere around us.
We can clean the governments, the water and the air,
but first we have to bring the world and ourselves to care.
We can stop them sending armies for other people’s stuff
but like Peter Finch and J-Lo, we have to say… enough.

The optimism in this is refreshing. It’s good to hear some positive attitudes these days.
