On Saturday, February 4, Hodad’s Burgers and AWOL Productions held the annual Ocean Beach Pier Surf Classic. There were a lot of heats with a lot of surfers of every age and gender.  The usual Ocean Beach crowd was in attendance, as well as visitors from around Southern California.

This was a family event, as was evident by the number of heats for the youngest girls and boys and heats for families.  It was a beautiful day in Ocean Beach, San Diego. Air temps in the mid 60s and a bit lower in the water. there was a high surf advisory in effect and the crowd was not disappointed, although the waves were a bit choppy. But that didn’t stop anything.

The surfers obviously had a great time surfing and the crowd had a great time watching the surfers do their thing. Just about every day in Southern California is a good day to go to the beach.
