The Project Review Committee, a sub-committee of the full OB Planning Board, is taking a preliminary look at a project being proposed at 4620 4768 Del Mar Avenue. They meet this Wednesday, September 21st at the OB Rec Center, 4726 Santa Monica Ave. The meeting begins at 6pm.

Editor: Taking our address from the text of the agenda and not the Action Item title, we continued the error that the OBPB was looking at 4620 Del Mar; it’s not, it’s looking at 4768 Del Mar Ave. And due to the error, we had the photos up on the wrong property.

Usually the Project Review members – once they have heard the developer’s presentation – vote on recommending the project or not to the Board.

ob-del-mar-4768-aerialThe project being proposed via a Process 2 Coastal Development Permit, is to demolish an existing garage and construct a 3-story unit addition, do interior remodel and companion unit. The plans propose 2 bedrooms, an FAR of 0.51, and is at 30 feet in height.

Here is the official agenda:

Why does it say 3522 Proposed Gross Floor area in one spot and “totalling 5703 sq feet” right above it?

One number is way above .70 FAR (.82), the other is well below (.51).

Apologies for the typos. The 3522 square foot number is correct.
