A Feeling of Satisfaction As the Widder Curry Finishes Her 3rd Cookbook

Judi Curry with her latest cookbook, Jamming With Judi.

For the last 2 years, I have been working on my third, and final cookbook.

How fitting it is to think that I finished it on the 5th anniversary of my husband’s death and received it today, his 87th birthday.

In between writing the book, I was also writing for the San Diego Free Press and the OB Rag; volunteering as a “Front Office Manager” for the Moxie Theatre of Performing Arts every now and then; critiquing restaurants;  and seeking other diversions to keep my sanity after a 46 year marriage.

Many of you are aware that I also run and own my own “Jamming” business, making unusual jams with wines and champagne  I have included some of those recipes in the book.  I also have been  trying to train my Golden Retriever Kangaroo to stop jumping over everything and everybody he meets.

So many of you have called, emailed me, or sent me text messages asking if my book would be ready before the holidays and I am thrilled to say “yes.”  In fact, they are for sale now for $20 + $3 shipping. (Of course, if you pick them up – or I bring them to you there is no shipping fee.)

If you do want to order one – or more – please let me know if you saw this on the OB Rag, because for each book I sell I will donate $1 to the website as a donation to help keep everything going.  And in answer to another question I received today – yes, I will continue writing for both the OB Rag and SDFP!

You know the song “ . . . oh what a relief it is!”   Happy Eating!

Judi, Congratulations on your 3rd cookbook! It really is fitting that you finished it on the 5th anniversary of Bob’s passing & you received it on his birthday. I can’t wait to buy my copy. Blessings, Candy

Thanks, Candy. I am proud of this book. Think it is the best of the three. And I think you wanted raspberry jam and strawberry jam – got them both.

Seems like we never got around to doing that lunch together.

And now….well, you should try to at least stop by the Woman’s Club (Bacon and Muir) on Friday night, 6-10 pm. We’re having our big 90th year fundraiser! I’m the committee chair, never done this kind of thing before, but we’re expecting a very big turn out. Raffles, silent auctions, DJ with period music, and all us girls are wearing flapper costumes! Should be a sight to see! Free to get in, $10 if you would like to eat food from Pomas, Surfrider Pizza, Shades and Hungry Lu’s!

Stephen moving here the end of this month, and then the holidays and my first knee surgery on Jan 7!! Catch me while you can!

I am so happy for you knowing that Stephen will be here so soon. I envy you ! I had thought I would be able to attend the Woman’s Club Friday night festivities, but my daughter’s boyfriend is throwing her a birthday party early because she is leaving for Australia on Saturday to spend her birthday and her granddaughters’ (my great-granddaughter) together. We hoped we would get to spend the holidays here, but so far there does not seem to be any plan to allow the children to leave Australia. Sorry to miss it.

And…lunch is is on the table…so to speak.
