A 3-unit apartment on West Point Loma Avenue has just been sold for close to a million bucks.  Buyer Robb A Murphy just spent $950,000 for the 2-story structure and yard at 4960-4962 W. Point Loma Blvd.

The building has 2,016  square feet total and is on a 5,624-square-foot lot (assessor’s parcel 448-230-02). Within the 3 units, there’s only four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It was built in 1953.

Although the property sits on busy West Pt Loma Blvd, it does have its amenities; it’s within walking distance of a half dozen or so excellent restaurants, is very near the San Diego River and Mission Bay, and butts up against Robb Field’s playing fields and parking lot.

Bonnie Jean Goodbody, Susan Mary Gasca and Christina Marie Norita, successor trustees of The Calelle Alba-De Costa Trust sold the parcel to Murphy. Murphy – whose address is 1327 La Palma, San Diego 92109 –  got help from Homestreet Bank of Seattle with a loan of $645,300 .

  1. Madness! The place is virtually a shack. What this city needs is a good earthquake to send the squeemish running for safety. Years and years of promoting our city as a paradise to lure tourists has resulted in too many people moving here- and when left unchecked that results in only the rich being able to afford to stay. Remember when (police chief) Lansdowne came under fire for allegedly ordering officers to not take reports to manipulate crime stats? Whether true or not we’re now known as one of the safest cities in the country maybe we can arrest this absurd housing deficiency by changing that. I can’t find the mate to a sock, I think burglars broke in and stole it. Have to file a report….

  2. The 1-Unit is for rent already…..$1,275….new floors.. BWHAHAHAHA.

By By OB! It was nice knowin ya!

  3. Good. Maybe this means my house will soon be sellable for enough to pay the realtor’s commission.
