Get on the Board, Get on the Ballot! Serving as your District Representative on the Ocean Beach Planning Board is a token of love for our Community of Ocean Beach!
Term length is two years.
General Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. at the Ocean Beach Recreation Center, 4726 Santa Monica Ave. Additional committee or liaison activities may be required in addition to General Meetings.
Serving the Community by sitting on the Ocean Beach Planning Board is a volunteer position, not a paid position.
Community Members are eligible to run for election in their district when meeting one of the following qualifications: 1. 30-day Resident; 2. Property Owner; 3. Business Licensee.
Getting your name on the election ballot is easy! Just submit your completed Election 2011 Candidate Materials (includes the requirement of obtaining 35 valid signatures from eligible voters in your district) to the Ocean Beach Planning Board prior to 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 13, 2011. Additionally, all candidates must have attended one OBPB General Meeting during the preceding year. Propositions on the Election Ballot…..
Advisory Propositions may be placed on the Election Ballot for Community vote. Placing an advisory proposition on the election ballot is done by either Board majority vote at the February General Meeting or by the submission of a completed OBPB official Proposition Petition Signature form (includes the requirement of obtaining 250 valid signatures from eligible voters in the Ocean Beach Planning Area) to the Ocean Beach Planning Board prior to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2011. Come Out & Vote!
Community Members are eligible to vote in their district when meeting one of the following qualifications, and presenting proof of qualification at the election poll: 1. 30-day Resident, a photo ID and current proof of address if not listed on photo ID (i.e. utility bill in your name showing street address); 2. Property Owner, a photo ID and current valid Property Deed in your name identifying street address of property; 3. Business Licensee, a photo ID and current valid Business License in your name identifying street address of business.

It is very important for OB residents, business owners and property owners to be involved with the OB Planning Board. If you are thinking of running for the Board, you must have attended at least one general meeting within the last year. That means tonight’s meeting is crucial to attend for anyone who has never attended a general meeting.
