Issa uses propaganda to charge Obama with using propaganda

101016352AW003_REP_ISSA_R_COur local Repubnick, Darrel Issa – of North County (the 49th CD) – is in the news again, and he’s in the news again because he continues to play the role of  the GOP’s attack dog on the Obama administration.  Of all the problems facing this country, what do you think Issa is now charging the White House with?

Issa, the ranking Republican on the House of Representatives’ Oversight Committee – and former car alarm king, is charging  Obama with being guilty of using propaganda with White House claims of saving jobs and creating new ones with stimulus monies.  That’s it. Obama is therefore guilty because the claims cannot be proven, says Issa, and such propaganda is prohibited if taxpayer money is used.

With the near total absence of Congressional oversight of the Bush administration for eight, long years, here is Issa and his Republican committee members busying themselves with issuing a 37 page report supposedly detailing the President’s misconduct.  They want the GAO – the Government Accountability Office – to investigate these violations of federal law.

Darrell-Issa clownfaceOf course, the Repubnicks on the committee are being paid with taxpayer funds while they dealt with this serious problem. Talk about “propaganda!” Isn’t this what they are doing?  So, in the end, the GOP’ers are charging the White House with using our money to make propaganda all the while these same Republicans are using our money to put out their propaganda.  It makes us disgusted.

The Ranking Republican on the House Oversight Committee continued to charge the Obama administration with peddling propaganda about its economic recovery programs.  Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said on MSNBC Friday that administration claims of jobs saved and created through stimulus spending cannot be proven and therefore are propaganda, which is prohibited under federal law if taxpayer funds are used.

“Every administration, Republican or Democratic, would like to promote itself, talk about its accomplishments, and use government dollars to do it,” Issa said. “We just think — our committee in our oversight role — that they’ve crossed the line.”

Oversight Committee Republicans on Monday released a 37-page report spelling out its claims of misconduct by the administration. And Issa has asked the Government Accountability Office to investigate possible violations of federal anti-propaganda laws.
