Over 300 Gather Sunday in Ocean Beach and Spell Out ‘No Kings’ in Human Banner Event

Ocean Beach, San Diego — On Sunday morning, June 8, more than 300 people came together at Dog Beach in Ocean Beach to form a bold human banner spelling out the phrase “NO KINGS.” Organized as a peaceful visual demonstration, participants stood shoulder-to-shoulder to send a powerful message in defense of democracy and the Constitution.

Set against the natural beauty of San Diego’s iconic coastline, the banner was captured from above by drone photography, creating striking aerial images and videos now available for media use.

The Ocean Beach event was held in the spirit of unity and civic action ahead of the NO KINGS March and Rally scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 10 AM to 12 PM at Waterfront Park in downtown San Diego. The campaign is part of a broader national movement rejecting authoritarianism and reaffirming the belief that power belongs to the people—not kings, billionaires, or dictators.

  1. As someone that despises politics and politicians, kings are born due to a vacuum of democratic leadership.

    1. Good point.
Most kings are born by lineage.
Home grown ones rise up, as you say.
But this one has no clothes – only little to pop his bubble at the moment.

  2. Beautiful stuff! The No Kings day of protest is this Saturday, June 14th – see nokings.org for details on protest times and locations. I’ll be at the San Diego protest at Waterfront Park starting at 1am.
