  1. Not shocked. That intersection is way too high speed in the east/west direction. A lot of people hitting 45+. Intersection needs a rework.

    1. Super awesome comment. Glad you could score some points here. This intersection obviously needs a rework and is way too high speed and car-centric given there is an assisted living facility, recreational field/courts, and is in what should be a walkable residential family neighborhood.

  2. This is a very sad incident. I wrote a persuasive essay in college about senior citizens taking the drivers test in order to renew their license. After a certain age I think it would be a good idea to reassess your ability to drive safely on the roads. My mom is 76 and her driving scares me.

    1. Please do not make comments assuming anything about either of the people involved in this tragic incident. I happen to know the driver and she is not your average 92 year old. I have been in the car with her plenty of times and she is a very good driver. You cannot group all 92 year olds together in in one category. This incident was at a blind corner with the bicyclist traveling at a rate of speed that was likely over the limit as evidenced by the amount of damage to the car. He impacted the rear of the back door of the car.
It is awful for both parties and their families. Please refrain from speculation on either side. The police are investigating thoroughly with security video of the event and witness statements.
