June 20, OBHS Presents- Dialogue: Q&A with SOHO’s Bruce Coons and David Goldberg
Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 7 PM, at Waters Edge, at 1984 Sunset Cliffs Blvd., Join the Ocean Beach Historical Society for a Q&A session with Save Our Heritage Organization’s Executive Director Bruce Coons and board president David Goldberg where OBecians can ask about the pressing issues and concerns surrounding preservation efforts.
Whether it’s the preservation of a single historic site, the impact of unchecked development on our historic neighborhoods, or the latest developer focused initiatives from city hall, Bruce and David will provide perspectives and answers to the questions that matter most to you, the Ocean Beach community.
Bruce has a special connection with Ocean Beach, having lived here in his youth and meeting his wife Alana there almost 50 years ago where they lived happily in OB for over a decade and now live in Loma Portal.
David has been a nearby Point Loma neighbor for 30+ years-both of these preservation activists are fully invested in helping San Diego’s historic neighborhoods.
Bring your questions for this interactive program and receive direct insights into pressing preservation issues. All OBHS programs are free.

Please attend this important meeting if you can. The original “complete communities” definition protected Ocean Beach because of it’s historical designation. Now the city of San Diego is saying “not really.” If you see these articles about 3 story houses going up next door to where you live, how about 20 units? There is more to this than old OB, when the trolley brought prospective owners out to look at lots for beach houses.
